A Friendly Flirtation by Christine Warner
Genre: Contemporary, Romance
Release Date: February 15th, 2016

Allison Hall is fed up with being a social outcast. Even at the tech company where she works for her brother and his best friend, Jared, she's the invisible nerdy girl. What she needs is confidence—and that requires a makeover and dating tips. And she knows just the man to help…

Jared Esterly is shocked when Allison asks for his assistance and turns her down, knowing that her brother—his business partner and best friend, Nick—would kill him if he dated her, even if it is just for practice. But when Al’s attempt to make changes on her own fails spectacularly, Jared reluctantly steps in. Things heat up quickly, and soon lessons move from the salon to the bedroom.

When overprotective big-brother Nick discovers Jared is dating Allison, their friendship and business partnership sour. Allison, consumed by guilt, must make a choice: stay with Jared, even though that means ruining his friendship with Nick and possibly his career, or leave the one man who sets her on fire.

Did she have devirginated stamped across her forehead?
Allison couldn’t take much more. Sunday dinners at the Hall house were never this…well, quiet.
An uneasy swell filled her gut like a helium balloon as her gaze darted around the table. Gramps sat contentedly chewing his chicken, patting his mashed potatoes down with his fork. Dad actually had a book. He never read at the table but confessed before dinner he couldn’t put this one down and if there were any earth-shattering conversations he’d try to pay attention.
As for Jared and Nick, they not only weren’t speaking, but they barely made eye contact.

Review:
5 *****
A Friendly Flirtation was a fun story that really grabbed my attention. Allison is confident in her work, but a total klutz in social situations. She just wants some help fitting in and who better to help then her brother's best friend Jared. I liked Al, with just a little help in the confidence area she blossoms as a person. She does not focus on being fat or dressing slutty, she just wants to understand makeup and colors that work for her, things average people take for granted. It gave me a connection to her and made her a great character.
Jared does not want to hurt his best friend, but can't help being attracted to Allison both before her "makeover" and more so after. He's the player, bachelor, but can he want/get more?
The book is full of funny one liners and awkward/funny moments. a truly enjoyable book that will pull you out of any book slump.
I'm hoping Nick will have his story, he needs someone too.
